At the heart of any coffee bath bombs are soda and citric acid. It is these two substances that create a hissing effect — a reaction that begins after contact with water.
Do not think that soda and citric acid are harmful to the skin. Just the opposite. Soda, for example, restores the acid-base balance and normalizes the metabolism in the cells, and also softens the water, which in urban conditions is an important plus. Citric acid, often referred to in the form of “acidity regulator”, cleanses the body from harmful, toxic substances.
The result of taking baths with bombs depends on these components.
All kinds of oils soften and nourish the skin, stimulate metabolic processes and influence mood by smells: soothe, relax or invigorate. And, for example, sea salt is useful for magnum and minerals.
They normalize cellular metabolism, so that the skin looks smooth and elastic.
Coffee Bath Bomb Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup citric acid
- 1/4 cup powdered dry milk
- 2 tbsp instant espresso powder
- 2 tsp fractionated coconut oil
- 3/4 – 1 tsp water
Instructions
- Stage 1: Preparation of the main composition
Measure out the required number of components using a measuring cup, a tablespoon or electronic scales. Pour soda, citric acid, milk powder and coffee in a completely dry dish or blender bowl and grind it almost into powder. By the way, a conventional coffee grinder or a traditional mortar with a pestle will be suitable for this purpose. The smaller these ingredients will be, the more effective and longer the hiss will be the hiss of bombshell, parting in the bath. Important! In no case do not let the mixture become wet at this stage. Otherwise, the reaction will begin much earlier than you make a bath bomb. Now gently mix both mixtures and mix them well. Important! If your hands have sores or cracks, you should use rubber gloves. - Stage 2: Shaping
This is followed by the most crucial stage. You need to slightly moisten the mixture, bringing it to the consistency of wet sand. Then you can form bombs from a mixture. We take a teaspoon and pour about a third of the water in it into a bowl and quickly stir the mixture. We collect a little mass in the palm and squeeze. If it, like wet sand, gathers into a lump and keeps its shape, proceed to the formation of bombs. By the way, the fillers can be put directly into the mixture, or you can put them on the bottom of the molds.Best of all, of course, use special molds, which can be purchased in stores for needlework. Also, suitable forms for the manufacture of handmade soap. However, the usual ice molds, as well as children's sand, and even small cupcake molds also fit perfectly. The bomb will regularly fizzle and foam in the bathroom, regardless of its shape. - Stage 3: Drying
So, take the mold, lubricate it with oil, fill it with moistened mixture and we tamp. If we use special forms, then we fill both halves, attach them to each other, hold for ten seconds and fasten. By the way, in this case, the soul mate is not very densely filled. We leave to dry for six hours near the battery (in winter) or in the sun (in summer). Dried bombs are carefully removed from the mold and stored in a sealed package.
